A Time and a Place
A Strange Dimensions Book
“ENTERTAINING, CHAOTIC ADVENTURE.” ~ Publishers Weekly.
A lonely, mild-mannered English teacher from Prince Edward Island gets caught up in a quest by a thousand-year-old alien to find the ancient evil responsible for killing its people.
From the novel:
I beat my wings and the horizon stabilized before me. I glided for a while, trying to get my bearings. My wings? I angled my head to see. Air rushed past me with a whoosh that only now registered on my consciousness. Wings… I had wings! Complete with feathers. Were they mine? I lifted the right one up to see. It was my wing all right, upholstered in white feathers with a smattering of grey. The manoeuvre together with the shock of discovering that I was a bird threw me into a stall, and I plummeted earthward. This was not good.

Barnabus Wildebear is just a junior high English teacher on Prince Edward Island—until his nephew’s bizarre transformation and a mysterious book shatter his quiet life. When a single word spoken aloud unleashes a beautiful, terrifying entity and opens a gateway to an alien world, Barnabus is swept into a cosmic conflict that will test the limits of his courage, loyalty, and sanity.
Pursued by a secretive organization and haunted by the enigmatic Iugurtha—a being who is both savior and destroyer—Barnabus must navigate a labyrinth of shifting realities, ancient wars, and impossible choices. As he journeys across worlds, from the windswept shores of home to the violet skies of C’Mell, he discovers that the fate of his family—and perhaps all of humanity—hangs in the balance.
Blending mind-bending science fiction with heart-wrenching emotion, A Time and a Place is a gripping tale of sacrifice, destiny, and the search for meaning in a universe where nothing is as it seems. Will Barnabus save those he loves, or lose himself to forces beyond comprehension? Open the book and step through the gate—adventure awaits.

Reviews
Mahoney’s work is great for those who like their speculative fiction thoughtful, eloquent, and messy.

Joe Mahoney (is) also the narrator, I have to say with a voice like that I would listen to anything he narrated. I loved this mesmerising audiobook with its non stop action and adventure.

A Time and a Place provides an entertaining frolic through the imaginary blue and yellow purple hills of someone desperately in need of therapy. And I loved it! …it will captivate you, entertain you, and keep you out of mischief until it’s time for tea. Excellent stuff . . . and highly recommended.
